Replace Driveway

Max Skip Size8 Yard

A cracked and worn old driveway can be a real eyesore. Equally, a shiney new one can add a real, classy edge to your property. But the process of getting to that new driveway isn’t exactly mess-free. By it’s very nature, a driveway is going to produce a huge amount of waste when being uprooted, which means that any driveway replacement job is going to need a fair amount of skip space.

Usual Waste Types
  • - Concrete
  • - Soil
  • - Clay
  • - Stone

For a Standard Sized Driveway we would recommend an

8 Yard Skip

All that concrete, clay, soil and stone is classed as ‘heavy’ waste, which means that an 8-yard skip is, in reality, as big as you can go; any bigger, and the skip lorry won’t be able to take the weight when it comes time for collection. A 6-yard skip is also a good option if your driveway is a little smaller, but we always recommend erring on the side of caution and hiring a slightly bigger skip than you think you’ll need. If you’ve got a big driveway and you don’t think a single 8-yard skip will cut it, then hiring one 8-yard skip and another, smaller skip is worth considering. That way, you can get rid of as much heavy waste as you like without collection becoming an issue.
